
Eugenio De Rosa graduated from the prestigious Conservatory of St. Cecilia in Rome as the top achiever of his year. He had the privilege to be a close pupil of the great maestro Guido Agosti, as well as studying composition with Giuseppe Savagnone and Amy Dommel-Dieny in France. On top of his artistic qualifications he holds a degree in contemporary literature, from the University of Salerno, which he achieved with high honors.
Beginning his concert career at a young age, Eugenio has given recitals and concerts across Europe, Japan, the Americas, and the Middle East. Interpreting both the classical and modern repertoire, he has been a guest performer in many important Festivals such as the Sorrento Festival, the Autumn Festival in Como, the Contemporary Music Festival LIM in Madrid, the Festival Cervantino in Mexico, the Bilbao Festival, the New Consonance Festival in Rome, the Città Spettacolo Festival in Benevento, Midsummer Macon in USA, Ljubliana Festival, and the Emilia Romagna Festival.
Eugenio has also performed in prestigious concert halls worldwide such as Musikhalle (Hamburg), Petite Salle Gaveau (Paris) Wigmore Hall (London), Sala Grande del Conservatorio di Milano (Milan), Auditorium della RAI (Turin).
His passion and musical talent, enabled him to focus creatively on both the chamber music and the piano-orchestra repertoire, resulting in numerous successful collaborations. Throughout the last 3 decades his work with renowned musicians and conductors such as Siegfried Palm, George Moench, Jesus Villa-Rojo, Piero Bellugi, Hans Graf, Adrian Gnam, Anton Nanut, lstvan Denes were widely acclaimed and well received internationally. As a tribute to his success, Eugenio was selected as the first Italian artist to be a member of the Jury for the prestigious Gina Bachauer lnternational Piano Competition, held in the United States.
In addition to his prolific concert activity, Eugenio’s knowledge and enthusiasm led him to cover several institutional roles within music Conservatories and Theatres across ltaly. In the early 1990s, his work as the Artistic Director of the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari, was widely recognized and appreciated. In 2002, he was appointed Vice President of the Fondazione Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Sicily and continued his involvement as an external member of the Board of Directors, until 2012. More recently, Eugenio has created and founded a yearly International Music Competition for young musicians in Rome named “Premio Annarosa Taddei”. Through its innovative format and exciting performances, the event has discovered many young talents and will celebrate its tenth edition in 2022.
